#00- My People are the Best

Yesterday, I spent 3 hours sitting on an itty-bitty chair in a tiny bathroom with a client helping her sort through a few small shelves of make-up, an hour per shelf. It was slow going, her scrutinizing each bottle of polish, opening it, discussing it, closing it, opening it again, deciding what to do: keep it or let it go. I must have smelled ten different hand and body lotions while helping her decide which she liked the best and which to purge. I'd think that for many people this would be torturous tedium, but for me it was glorious, like hanging out with an older sister, helping her go through her perfumes and pretty makeup. Her story behind each color, her joy at having the help, and her enthusiasm about maintaining a different approach to her things was inspiring. I am grateful for every client I have, not because they give me my livelihood, but because each one of them gives me another opportunity to connect with humanity in an intimate and precious way.Maine professional organizer. maine professional organizer, maine professional organizer. About Me - I’m your friendly, neighborhood professional organizer. I enact change in people’s homes and lives. I clear and organize spaces to create beauty and order. I take on tasks and errands to open spaciousness and time in people’s days. This work comes naturally to me. And as much as I’m willing to get down and dirty digging in some hardcore clutter, my approach is about the art of creating permanent beauty, functionality, and harmony in the spaces and schedules I transform. Getting ordered is a process that burgeons from the inside out. While working with my clients, I help them define what’s happening for them on the inside, their internal needs and habits. I learn their hang-ups and desires. And then I teach it all back to them so that they can gain a better understanding of themselves. That way I give them the tools to manage and re-create what I taught them.  Organize for a person and they will stay organized for a week. Teach a person to organize for him or herself, and they will stay organized for a lifetime. You are not alone. I’m here to help.
